Glam Wine Bottle DIY

I actually posted this on my The Blog That Must Not Be Named.. aka my first one that I didn't like. But I figured I'd repost it here cuz why the fuck not?

My girlfriend had been having some boy issues and my biggest peice of advice was "just relaxxxxx!" It got to the point where she'd say something, then follow it up with, "I know, I know, 'relaxxxxx.'"

So I'm at the liquor store and I see a bottle of RELAX wine but in red. Red is kinda her color so I'm like YES. I was also going thru a "I could prob put glitter on this" phase and decided to do just that.

(excuse the horrible pictures. I was even more of a baby blogger then)

- jewels (I used the kind with adhesive already on the back)
- loose glitter (I used Recollections "Fine Glitter")
- Mod Podge
- one of those foam brush things
- spray sealant
- liquor/ wine/ beer bottle

1. use the foam brush to paint on a layer of Mod Podge (it dries clear)
2. sprinkle the glitter over the Mod Podge-d area
3. LET DRY!
4. repeat step 1, 2 and 3 until it looks the way you want
5. add jewels!

6. spray the sealant according to directions **DO THIS OUTDOORS**
7. LET DRY

And now you have an present for someone that is functional and fucking awesome. Or you can keep it yourself.

Is It Still A Blate If I Knew The Blogger Before She Was A Blogger?

Tom's cousin M invited me to a see a concert and spend the night at the casino. OBVIOUSLY I was pumped because I <3 M. I don't particularly like casinos because I don't like losing money and I don't like cigarette or cigar smoke. But I do like dressing up and pretending to be important and swanky. We had an incredible time and there were more than a few drinks involved. We had din a delicious restaurant owned by Bobby Flay. My inner blogger was so sad I coudn't take a picture because we were trying our best to be classy.

trying real hard to open the bottle with one of those old school corkscrew. #struggles
Then we went to The Eagles concert. Which was fun, but more than anything it was hilarious to watch the graphics on the screen behind the band. They were awful and I probably made a similar slide show on power point in 6th grade.
We then got Johnny Rockets and Ben and Jerry's and ate all of it and stayed up til 2am talking. I made it to work on time (it's an hour drive) by a miracle.
After riding the struggle bus home from work, Tom and I went home, gathered our things (aka booze)  and went to our friends house where SAVANNAH was waiting!!! We went to high school together and basically fell in love. She went to school out in AZ and although we kept in touch we both were so busy (and broke) that we didn't see much of each other. Now she comes to CT every year and since she just started the most adorable blog ever, we've talked so much more!
We went to a block party, sweated/danced our asses off and ended up and Tom's cousins apartment when we continued dancing, boozing and also enjoyed tots and pizza.
We slept in super late and ate BK and watch Indiana Jones whitle nursing hangovers. We eventually went to Tom's parents for din with L&J who got home from their honeymoon.
Tom and I went to 2 more vineyards and then took Lil to my grandmother's to run around. Then headed over to Tom's parents again for a bit of din and fetch and then headed home for an early bedtime.

Monday. Ick.

You guys know I was excited about the weekend based on my post on Friday. And here's the rest of my weekend shenanigans:

I know, it's tiny. It's the only
picture there was!
I bought this Nanette Lepore dress on Rue La La. Then posted it on facebook and found out Tom's cousin bought the same one the day before. So we'll have to call each other so we aren't (OR ARE) both wearing it for the next family wedding. ALSO Pour La Victorie heels for $40 that were sold out. WHAT THE FUCK. The one day I'm like, "no, I'll be good and not online shop." Clearly I did it the next day anyway. Who was I trying to kid?

After work came happy hour with Tom and A then rooftop drinks at our apartment with another couple friends then party at Tom's cousin's apartment (across the street from our apartment!) which is MASSIVE and I want to move there. And his roomate showed me a vid that was taken the night of the wedding. Oops.
happy hour
rooftop dranks
HUGE BATHROOM
ALSO! Greatest part of the night? I harassed Sara because duh- I always do and since we're in love she lets me harass her.
AND TAMI AND I ARE TEXTY FRIENDS!!! Want proof?
Kissy selfies.
See what you missed Katie? That's what you get for being asleep.
Baby Jesus was smiling upon me and I woke up with NO HANGOVER!!! BDE. Then we got up and went to see my dad drive a race car!! Then Tom and I came home and watched Jason Statham movies for 5 hours.
DUH. what you wear to a nascar track.
So good at pictures
Getting ready to go!
We got up, got some BANGIN' peppermint mocha iced coffee and breakfast and then met up with Tom's cousin M and her bestie to go meet friends at a vineyard! After that, we stopped by a delish restaurant and had a snacky. Then went to our weekly din at Tom's parents house.
best iced coffee ever
Tom ruining pictures
and now everyone but M have fake smiles. Luckily it doesn't matter because they're all still cute.

And now for a story that guys (maybs girls too) probably don't want to hear but it is too ridic not to tell.

I had my Aunt Flo (it was really hard to decide what to refer to that as) visit while we were at the vineyard and didn't have anything on me. Neither did the other girls. So on the way to the restaurant, I stopped at a gas station. I went in, grabbed a box and went up to pay. This is the conversation I had with the 43ish, male, sketchy clerk:

clerk: having a bad week ey? ha ha!
me: haaa.. yea
clerk: on a weekend too!? that's too bad!
me: haa mm yes
clerk: that's why I'm glad I'm not a woman! I mean it's nature, but I'm glad I'm not a woman
me: ok. can I use your bathroom?
clerk: ok! right over there. don't get it too messy haha!
me: (thinking) WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING? / I don't think he understands how this all works
--I go into the bathroom and come out--
me: thank you
clerk: oh yes! hey- enjoy! ha ha!

Real. Life.

The Beverly Cocktail

Finally linking up for Thirsty Thursday with a drink recipe! I invented it and I'm now obsessed so I hope you like it too.

Disclaimer: I made this up and since I'm nowhere close to a bartender, (I should have asked Cortney for help) the measurements are kinda fucked. See Also: Eloise's Impomptu Sangria

what I started with
then added this.
It's a very sweet drink but it's SO FABULOUS.

-a glass (12ish oz) of white wine (I liked Sauvignon Blanc)
-2 oz of stawberry moscato
-2 oz St. Germain
-splash of pineapple vodka

Basically you pour yourself a glass of white wine then you add the other things in the amount you like. Since it's a classy drink, you can have it in any kind of glass. But you definitely need a stirrer. And probably an awesome straw. (I got my straws AND stirrers from RubyPop)

and Lil the creeper

Also if you didn't read my guest post on StephyBaby's blog then do it. Because this picture is for you Stephanie!
trying bourbon for the first time.
SPOILER: I hated it.
So go out to the liquor store, grab all those items and make yourself a Bev. GET IT?! Like BEVerage and BEVerly Cocktail. GAH I'm hilarious. Let me know what you think! And by that I mean don't tell me if you don't like it. It will hurt my feelings. Plus I may be drunk reading your comment and fight you on twitter. Tami knows, I'll do it.
