Musical Confessions

Wait, today is Friday? I mean I’ll take it but I swear that was the fastest week ever!

Today I have a confession for y'all. I need you to try hard not to judge me on this. I like Maroon 5. Like reallllly like them. All their songs. I had their Songs About Jane album and I listened to it ALL that summer. On repeat. And their new stuff? Ahhh I sing along to every one that comes on the radio. I know songs like Payphone are SO overplayed and you probably hate it by now (if you didn’t hate it immediately after hearing it) but I still jam out whenever I hear it.

I know there are a ton of girls obsessed with Adam Levine and honestly, he’s not my type. Yea he’s hot. I feel like that’s objective. I don’t find him all that attractive tho. Also knowing he can sing that high kinda freaks me out. That's something I haven't been attracted to since I crushed on Nick Carter. Plus I am much more into the clean cut type (a little stubble doesn’t hurt tho. Shout out to Tom's legitimate  5 o'clock shadow)

In general I feel like I have pretty good taste in music, although that’s a completely subjective topic. I obviously love all the 90’s stuff (B. Spears, BSB, Spice Girls) but for some reason loving Maroon 5 seems like it should be embarrassing. I mean it’s not  like I love Creed or Nickelback. (If you like those bands, I’m not even sorry. They’re fucking horrendous)

Moves Like Jagger (and Party Rock Anthem) was pretty much our Vegas theme song when we went in September 2011 for our friends wedding. It was playing everywhere, always. And I can’t hear that song without thinking about the shenanigans that went down.
Shenanigans.

Tom doesn’t like them. One bit. He listens to Moves Like Jagger because of the memories but that is all. In fact he has quite an infamous story (which for his sake I won’t give too many details on) of being a freshman in college and getting realllly hammered for the first time (I know you all know what that is like) and going to the see Maroon 5 playing on campus. Most of what he remembers is that he just kept screaming “YOU SUCK!” and swaying. Real mature Tom. Also I think that’s part of the reason he hates Maroon 5, he blames them for his night/the next morning.
Yes. That's Gary Oldman
Whatevs guys. I’ll be driving around blasting everything from This Love to One More Night and singing along while everyone on the road curses at me (for more than just my shitty driving this time)

Do you guys have a “guilty pleasure” artist or song?

Time to #backthatazzup with one of my fav Maroon 5 songs!

  1. Hahaha...I love Maroon 5. I made my husband go to the concert with me when they were here a few months ago.

  2. Ha! I usually go for the clean cut guy myself but I honestly find Adam so sexy. He is probably my number one celebrity crush. I trekked thru the mud last weekend at jazzfest just to see him. I don't care that it was just a big screen! (I was not elbowing my way to front. You had to cross a small swamp to get there)

  3. I love Maroon 5!! When I was 14, my guilty pleasure was Aaron Carter. But that's just embarrassing.

  4. I'll admit, I love just looking at him. I get annoyed of their songs quickly and then after a month or so, I like them again.

  7. I *used to*!!!! ((past tense)) love Creed. I went to a couple of their concerts when I was like 14/15. I had a middle school boyfriend who loved them. Douche.

Anyways now that I've permanently embarrassed myself on the internet, that "moves like jaguar" thing just about killed me.

  11. Haha yeah I judge you for this! I don't really care for them. And I agree on Adam Levine, he's not my thing. Oh well. I'm sure I have loads of bands though that it's super embarrassing to love!

  13. I don't think there's any shame in liking Maroon 5. I love them! I saw them live a long time ago right before they got big and Adam Levine was one of the best live performers I've ever seen. I'm going to see them this summer w/ Kelly Clarkson and I'm so excited!
