Weekend Update

Before I get into my weekend, I want to update you guys a little on my life- I got a new job!!

I will still be working at the same company but I will be in Marketing now. I"m SO incredibly excited, and on top of just being pumped, I'm extra giddy because the reason I got the job has a LOT to do with blogging!!

I was thinking about how our company could use more social media to connect with other companies and customers and I started looking into what social media we already are involved in. I saw there was a job posting on LinkedIn and decided to email the VP of Marketing about it. (I work in a very small company) and she set up a meeting. I don't have any professional experience or formal training but I have been blogging for over a year and am obv active in social media. Plus designing and installing blog templates forced me to be familiar with HTML and graphic design.

The conversation continued along those lines and basically I was qualified enough to get the position! I mean I had other credentials as well (including a degree in analytics) but I'm so excited that a hobby and passion of mine like blogging could translate to a new and exciting career move!

Also- shout out to Helene for being awesome and a great morale booster!

OK. Now to my weekend.
So Friday night, Tom and I went out for a celebretory drink and truffle fries. It was awesome. But then I packed up my stuff and Lil and her stuff and went to spend the night at my dad's. He needed a ride to the airport early and since the ING Hartford Marathon was happening, I wouldn't be able to get back to my apartment until around 3. So Lil and I had a sleepover with Daddy!

The sleepover went well mostly. And we spent a lot of time playing all Saturday. My uncle took me to lunch and I also went shopping for big-girl work clothes. Then finally got to come home. Tom and I had a bag of Doritos for dinner and watched The Expendables 2. Jealous?
Sunday was a very lazy morning. Lil was SUPER tired which meant fam snuggle time in bed. Tom headed out to golf with his friend and I stayed home and listened to 90's pop pandora radio and organized our desk aka the black hole for paper. Lil has spent the entire day sleeping. It's fantastic. She has been gasy tho which isn't so fantastic.

So that's what I did, but I also wanna share the best of what I bought. I haven't been shopping/bought stuff in a while but this weekend I did get some sweet shit.

And a quick intro to an amazing girl! Jen is basically a super mom with some serious literary talent! She just started a new link up where bloggers can share their writing. I love it! I'm not a writer but reading the first part of her story was fun (plus she's an incredible writer!) Go hang out with her for a while!
